On Friday night the Coal City Comm. VFD and Indiana State Police hosted a Meth Awareness Class for emergency responders. This class was to teach 1st responders the dangers of responding to meth operations and what to look for to report a possiable operation/lab. Nearly 25 people attended the class and walked away with a better understanding of this issue. Attending the class were members from the following agencies; Coal City Comm. VFD,Franklin Township VFD,Bowling Green VFD, Cataract VFD, Lewis Township VFD along with several local citizens. This class is just the first of several the Coal City Community Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting in the future months regarding issues local emergency responders deal with on a daily basis.
