The Coal City Community Volunteer Fire Department is located in western rural Owen County in Indiana. We are a very close knit family that covers around 50 square miles. Coal City VFD is known in Owen County as Station 1. We provide fire and EMS services to the folks in Jefferson Township and surrounding areas when called upon. Outside of Coal City and Jefferson Township we also often assist departments from Patricksburg, Freedom, Clay City and Worthington. We currently house 3 apparatus including a engine company,brush/rescue unit and a tanker.
